NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Blue Jackets preached all summer that this year's training camp would be "competitive." It was a message of hope to the club's young prospects and words of warning to too-comfy veterans.And yet a 3-2 overtime win Tuesday night over the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena was further proof that there probably won't be any surprises when the Blue Jackets' final roster is settled next Tuesday.The Jackets won at 1:17 of overtime when center William Karlsson scored.

Aaron Palushaj's quest to return to the NHL hit another snag Tuesday as the right wing was released from his professional tryout contract by the Columbus Blue Jackets.Palushaj will report to Cleveland of the American Hockey League, with whom he signed a one-year contract on September 30.He appeared in three preseason games for the Blue Jackets, recording two penalty minutes and a minus-1 rating while registering four shots on goal.
